Our Story

On the 1st of April 1979, ANARDE was established as the CSR. with the objective of uplifting and empowering rural India.
Four decades since, Anarde Foundation has come a long way. Today we work with a model that is uniquely ours and successfully running in rural India

1979

The Beginning

Started in 1979, the Anarde Foundation began as a CSR organization, driven by a commitment to societal development and lasting community impact.

1980

Our Foundational Programs

In 1980, we launched foundational programs for holistic development: empowering farmers (Farmer Development), funding entrepreneurs (Micro Credit), and improving public health (Rural Sanitation).and dignity by constructing safe, hygienic facilities.

1990

Expanding Our Focus

We expanded our focus, launching Water Management programs for resource security and Skill Development initiatives to provide vocational training and economic independence for rural youth.

2000

Deepening Community Well-being​

At the turn of the millennium, we deepened our impact by introducing Rural Insurance for a financial safety net, Drip Irrigation for water conservation, and Clean Drinking Water projects for public health.

2010

Scaling Up Our Impact​

2010 marked a scale-up in infrastructure and sustainability. We launched Rural Housing, Cattlesheds, School Sanitation, and the SSNNL water project, plus Vermicompost and BALA for livelihoods.

2020

Focus on Sustainability

In 2020, our new strategy centered on Holistic Rural Development and Water Security. We committed to Net Zero and launched large-scale Plantation drives to build climate resilience and restore ecology.
