The Lifeline of Talavali & Maniknagar
A Holistic Blueprint for Water Sovereignty and “Har Ghar Jal”
In 2023-24, Team Anarde and Novonesis Company launched a transformative mission to combat chronic water scarcity in the villages of Talavali and Maniknagar. By merging large-scale landscape restoration with a sophisticated distribution network, they moved beyond temporary relief to build a foundation for permanent water security.
Healing the Landscape: Watershed Development
Before water could reach the taps, the project focused on the earth itself. Recognizing that a healthy water table is the precursor to a reliable supply, the team implemented a strategic groundwater recharge plan:
- Recharging the Aquifer: Construction of three RCC check dams and three recharge shafts to capture and sink rainwater.
- Restoring Natural Flow: Over 12,900 cubic meters of nala desilting and stone pitching were completed to prevent soil erosion and optimize runoff.

The
"Har Ghar Jal" Initiative
With the groundwater replenished, the focus shifted to Maniknagar’s infrastructure. The “Har Ghar Jal” (Water in Every Home) initiative turned the dream of piped water into a reality through a modern technical grid:
- Reliable Sourcing: A new RCC well was constructed and existing borewells were rejuvenated with high-efficiency pump systems.
- Storage & Distribution: A 10,000-liter ESR tank now feeds a comprehensive network, including 69 direct household tap connections.
- Quality & Precision: To ensure sustainability, the system was integrated with a chlorination filter for safety and water meters for efficient resource management.
Empowering the Heart of the Community
The project has transformed life for 1,548 beneficiaries in Talavali and Maniknagar, replacing chronic summer water scarcity and expensive tanker reliance with a sustainable, year-round supply. By bringing clean water directly to every doorstep, the “Har Ghar Jal” initiative has eliminated labor-intensive trekking, restored community dignity, and secured a resilient future for every resident.
